Strategic Direction
Based on a commissioned feasibility study released in 2018, PPFG is moving forward with concrete recommendations to include:
1. Phased Development - Beginning with the already successful pasture raised egg production, now managed under the Piedmont Progressive Farmers Cooperative (PPFC), this same process is being fine tuned to move into aggregation of other local foods, primarily produce.
2. Farm & Production Planning - Ongoing training opportunities to area farmers to assist them with their operations while also growing PPFG farmer participation.
3. Focus on Farmer Development - Growing the PPFG & PPFC brands require farmer members and suppliers follow PPFG advocated practices. These best practices are now adopted by the cooperative and PPFC continues to provide the guidance for participating cooperative members.
4. Work with Partners to Leverage Capacity - Because the PPFG social and educational mission to improve the economic condition of disadvantaged farmers in the region, it is key that PPFG work with others in the area with similar goals in order to avoid duplication and use resources efficientlyWhatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
